Gmedia in Khammam

Khammam is a district city in eastern Telangana with a long memory. Its fort was built in 950 AD by the Kakatiyas on a hill, and the city was once called Stambhadri, after the oldest pillar at the Narasimhaswamy temple. Lakaram Lake is the other landmark most people name. Telugu and Urdu are the official languages. The city is a trade and crop centre, where the Food Corporation of India procures crops at minimum support price, and a Godrej Agrovet integrated palm oil complex broke ground in 2023. An IT Hub with five floors and 42,000 sq ft has signed 19 companies. Students are everywhere: Khammam Institute of Technology and Sciences, Swarna Bharathi Institute of Science and Technology, Vazir Sultan College of Engineering, Mamata Medical College and a Government Medical College inaugurated in September 2023.
